Through joining YSTT you are provided the opportunity to be published in two separate journals. Firstly there is the YSTT Journal which we publish ourselves. There is no theme for this and it serves as an opportunity for students to get some initial expereince writing a policy paper and having it published. As an added bonus to being published, if your entry is awarded as the termly winner of the journal submissions then you get a weeks work experience at IPPR in London, the country’s “leading progressive think tank.” This is a fantastic prize, for more info on IPPR see their website here:

The other journal is the IPPR@Universities METIS journal. This is a national student policy paper journal published by IPPR. Each year there is a different theme that your submission has to tie into. The 2014 theme is ‘Youth and Politics’. Last year’s can be found here:
